The weight room will be closed on Friday July 30 and Friday August 6. Next week, ALL GRADE LEVELS should lift together on Thursday for “Day #2.”
I apologize for the inconvenience that tomorrow’s closing may cause.
Also, for each of the next two Wednesday sessions, players will need both sneakers and cleats!
As we officially start our Summer Strength & Conditioning program on Tuesday 7/6, here is the schedule that has finally been confirmed:
Grades 11 & 12: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 6pm – 8pm
Grades 7-10: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 6pm – 8pm.
If you have a LEGIT reason as to why you can not commit to these three (3) nightly workouts each week, the weight room is open Monday and Thursday ONLY from 6am – 7:15am.
We have only six (6) weeks until the start of double sessions for the HS levels that start of August 16 (Monday). Building on the success of CapitaLand Camp is imperative. YOU must continue to improve as a player – WE must continue to improve as a program – this is directly under YOUR control. Also, Modified practice starts on September 1.
Now that our school’s spring sports seasons are completed, we must have a brief but MANDATORY informational football meeting discussing important team events and key dates from now until the start of the season in August. This is a meeting for BOTH players and parents/guardians.
The meeting will take place on Thursday JUNE 3 in the South Forum in Columbia High School (2nd floor in the South Tower). Players from current grades 11 and 10 will meet from 6:30pm to 7:00pm while current grades 9 and 8 will meet from 7:15pm to 7:45pm.
Columbia Football will be participating in the 2010 CaptiaLand Football Camp. It is open to our CURRENT players in 8-11 grades. Camp dates will be June 27 – July 1. If you have not received the brochure that I emailed around, please email me: romanowskidr@egcsd.org or coachromanowski@yahoo.com . Paperwork and payment are due prior to June 1.
Our week #4 game against “A” Amsterdam is replaced by a Liberty Division game at home against Troy HS. This is the result of the reconfigured AA enrollment numbers by the NYSPHSAA.
Also, our Week #3 Varsity game at Colonie HS will LIKELY be a Thursday Night game due to Rosh HaShanah. Please note that these changes are likely, but our schedule still remains tentative.
New York State has recently changed the enrollment threshold used as the cut off between Class AA and Class A for football. As a result, Troy will move back up to the AA’s. Our schedule will subsequently change as well. Once it is finalized, I will make it available.
