Week 9 is the final week of the football season. Three Columbia Teams; Varsity, Freshman and Modified play their final games of the 2009 season this week. JV played has played their last game of the season.
Varsity will play their final game of the 2009 season on Thursday, October 29 at 7 pm against CBA on Budnowski field. Varsity will hold their final team meal of the 2009 season on Wednesday, after the last practice. Thank you to all the varsity families for supplying food, drinks and desserts for the team through the season. Special thanks to Allison Talar for coordinating the team meals.
Modified will play their final game of the 2009 season on Saturday, October 31 at 10 am against Troy on Budnowski field.
Freshman play at Saratoga on Tuesday, October 27 at 4 pm, and then play the final game of Columbia’s season on Saturday, October 31 at 1 pm against Scotia. This will be the last game of the double header on Budnowski field that day.
*** The annual banquet will be held on Friday, November 6 at Columbia. All players are free and encouraged to come and celebrate the season with the Columbia Football family.
Equipment return: All players are required to wash all of their uniform pieces: practice pants and jersey, game pants, and home and away jerseys and return them to Coach Cavotta’s classroom at Columbia in a plastic bag labeled with their name. Modified players will return their uniforms to Coach Bresnahan. Thank you for taking good care of Columbia uniforms!
Week 8 brings post season action for Varsity and JV.
Varsity will travel to Bleeker Stadium in Albany for a 6 PM game on Friday, October 23, vs. Albany.
JV will play their last game of the year against CBA at home on Thursday, at 3:30. Help is needed to open the concession stand.
Freshmen face Guilderland at home on Wednesday, 6:00 pm. JV and Varsity parents are needed to help with concession. The Year End sportswear sale will be held during the freshman game.
Modified play at Mohonasen on Thursday at 4 pm.

Week 7 has all 4 football teams hunting for another win.
Freshman travel to Schenectady on Wednesday, 4 pm. JV challenge Shaker on Thursday, 6 pm at Shaker. Modifiedare home on Saturday at 9 am.
Varsity will host Shaker on Friday night for the final game regular season game of 2009.
Friday night, 10-16 is Senior night.
Senior football players will be honored before the game.
Help is needed in the concession stand and with sportswear on Friday night.

Senior Football Players will be honored on Friday night, October 16, at 6:45. Parents and guaridans of Columbia’s 21 senior players will join their son’s on the field for this honor. Seniors will wear their home blue jersey, so please wear your son’s white jersey. Parents should download the sneior info form and return to Coach Romanowski.

Week 6 is Homecoming Week at Columbia! Join the exciting activities at Columbia.
Freshman meet the Burnt Hills Freshman at home on Wednesday, 6:30 pm. Help is needed in the concession stand from JV and Varsity Parents.
Modified is away at Lisha Kill, (South Colonie) on Friday, 4 pm.
Varsity team meal, Thursday, 5 pm.
Varsity faces Schenectady on Friday night in the homecoming game. Help is needed in the concession stand and with sportswear from JV , Freshman and Modified Parents. This is the busiest night of the year, and normally the booster club earns a lot of money to support our programs on this night.
JV has their second team meal on Friday Night, at 6 pm, they will play in Schenectady on Saturday at 10 am.
So far this year there has been a ton of support and help from the football families at all levels, and the impact of this help is felt thought the program. Thank you for stepping up and making Columbia Football a successful program!
