Columbia Football

Week 3 comes rolling in, along with Football weather.  Columbia Football has a busy week. 

Tuesday, September 14:  Booster Club Meeting at Columbia High School 7PM, all are invited and welcome.  The meeting takes place in the cafeteria. 

Wednesday, September 15: Freshman travel to Ballston Spa to face the Scotties in a 4:15 game.

Thursday, September 16: Varsity Team Meal, varsity parents should contact Peg DeJohn to coordinate food contributions.

Friday, September 17: Varsity travels to Colonie to face the Garnet Raiders in a league contest.  The game will be played at Colonie High School and starts at 7 PM.

Saturday, September 18: JV hosts Colonie JV in a home game.  Kick off is 10 am.  Help from varsity parents is needed in the concession stand.

Saturday, September 18:  Modified players receive their gold cards, and Parent Team Meeting 11:30.  The annual gold card sale will run for the modified players.  Each player will receive 15 cards and 15 Dicks $10 bonus cards to sell as a package.  All proceeds benefit all levels of Columbia Football.  In the past couple of years the Booster club has purchased new jerseys and game pants for Modified, Freshman and this year marks the first time in over 6 years that new uniforms were purchased for the Varsity team.  All high school levels now have home and away jerseys as required by Section II.  Also, lots of new pads, equipment, coaches training, and coaches are paid for by the booster club.  All levels of play attend the annual banquet, with players free.  Please Support Columbia football by purchasing a gold card.

Tuesday, September 7, first day of school, Best wishes for a successful school year for all our scholar-athletes.

Wednesday, September 8, Freshman vs. Guilderland 4:15.  We need a few parents to help in the concession stand

Thursday, September 9, Varsity team meal 4:45, taco night. 

Friday, September 10, 1st Varsity Home game, 7 pm vs. Niscayuna.  Alumni night.  All Columbia Alumni, especially football alumni are invited to the game.  Help is needed in the concession stand.

Saturday, September 11, JV @ Niscayuna 10 am

Please come out and support Columbia Football.

Our week #4 game against “A” Amsterdam is replaced by a Liberty Division game at home against Troy HS. This is the result of the reconfigured AA enrollment numbers by the NYSPHSAA.

Also, our Week #3 Varsity game at Colonie HS will LIKELY be a Thursday Night game due to Rosh HaShanah.  Please note that these changes are likely, but our schedule still remains tentative.
