Thursday, October 28, Modified travels to Mohonasen for a 4:15 game.

Varsity will play Albany. The date and time have not been determine.

Players should return equipment to their coaches following the schedule that each coach has announced. Also each player has received an envelope with 3 raffles tickets to Top Form.  Please either sell or purchase the 3 tickets, $2 each, 3 for $5.

Monday, November 1, Columbia Annual Banquet 6 PM.  Winner of the Top Form Raffle chosen.

The Columbia Annual Football Banquet will be held on Monday, November 1 at Columbia High School.  All players are free if they RSVP.  Guests are $12.  The invitation is inserted in this post.  This is a celebration of Columbia Football and we would like 100% attendance.

Fund Raising:  All players will be receiving an envelope with 3 tickets for the Top Form Raffle.  Tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5.  Please either purchase the 3 tickets for $5 or sell them and return the money to your coach.  The winning ticket will be pulled at the banquet on Monday, November 1.

Columbia Football Greening the Greenbushes, for Some Green: Thanks to the community for a huge response to this community service and fund raiser.  Special Thanks to Andy Gawrys, Jim Smith, Don Walzer for coordinating, advertising, and doing a lot of heavy lifting.  Thanks also to JV players Andrew Gawrys and Chris Smith for spending their Sunday moving heavy metal items.  Also, to Mike Cristo for the use of his dumpsters, and for his help crushing, moving and cashing in the scrap.  We still have a few more people to pick up from, and will have a final dollar value for the fund raiser in the next week or two.  We hope to hold this community service annual in October, and can earn even more it we can get more trucks and people to lift the metal.

On the fund raising front, great job with the gold card by Modified.  The prizes will be awarded asap.  Also, we are still selling raffle tickets for the Top Form membership.  $2 each or 3 for $5. Take a chance on this 3 month membership.

Also this week is our Columbia Football Greening the Greenbushes for some green, takes place on Saturday and Sunday, October 16 and 17.  Drop off your items, or if you know someone who needs help, we can arrange pick up on Saturday.

Jean Decker, EGTA teacher of the year was honored at the Varsity game, and the EGPW cheerleaders and Flag Football Players were the highlight of the night. The stands were packed for the game.

Thank you to Columbia Football families for making Week 4 a success!  From the CHS-EGPW clinic, to the team meals for Varsity and JV, to the support in the concession stand for 4 events in one week, to the chain gang, announcers, sellers of football items and of course attending the games, the EG community is behind the players and the coaches and keeps the team strong.

Again, this year, Ron Annis, President of Top Form, Inc; and our athletic trainer at Columbia, has donated to Columbia Football a 3 month membership to Top Form, valued at $450!

Columbia Football will be raffling off this membership.  The winner will be picked at the Football Banquet on Friday, November 5.

Tickets are $2 each, 3 for $5.  It would be great if each Columbia Football family would take at least 3 tickets for $5.

Top Form, Inc, located in Schodack,  is the premier training facility in the area.  Ron Annis is a internationally recognized trainer who works with athletes and athletes to be.  He is a huge supporter of Columbia Athletics and in particular Columbia Football.

Friday, September 17: Varsity travels to Colonie to face the Garnet Raiders in a league contest.  The game will be played at Colonie High School and starts at 7 PM.

Saturday, September 18: JV hosts Colonie JV in a home game.  Kick off is 10 am.  Help from varsity parents is needed in the concession stand.

Saturday, September 18:  Modified players receive their gold cards, and Parent Team Meeting 11:30.  The annual gold card sale will run for the modified players.  Each player will receive 15 cards and 15 Dicks $10 bonus cards to sell as a package.  All proceeds benefit all levels of Columbia Football.  In the past couple of years the Booster club has purchased new jerseys and game pants for Modified, Freshman and this year marks the first time in over 6 years that new uniforms were purchased for the Varsity team.  All high school levels now have home and away jerseys as required by Section II.  Also, lots of new pads, equipment, coaches training, and coaches are paid for by the booster club.  All levels of play attend the annual banquet, with players free.  Please Support Columbia football by purchasing a gold card.
