I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Drew Romanowski and I am the new Head Football Coach at Columbia High School. I’ve taken over the position after three years at CHS as an Assistant Coach. While I have been coaching football for 11 years now, I am extremely proud to now lead the program from which I graduated (CHS ’92). Prior to coming back to Columbia, I had the privilege of winning a State Championship as a high school assistant in Massachusetts in 2005, coaching in the NCAA Division III Playoffs at Springfield College (1999) and coaching in the NCAA Northeast Regional ECAC Bowl Game while at Plymouth State College (1998). One of my immediate goals is to raise the standard of football success here at Columbia.
As the 2009 football season approaches, the Columbia Football program has been hard at work preparing for a season of increased success at all levels. To succeed at the Class AA level in Section II football, the Columbia Football program has been working hard throughout this off-season with our players in the weight room and going to camps while the coaches have been attending advanced coaching clinics. However, our program has grown larger than our weight room. On the field, we are in need of updated equipment that will keep our players safe and provide better practice repetitions. We are in need of a major upgrade to the technology component of our program for teaching and game film review. Also, we are in need of funds to supplement the number of uniforms that are required to outfit a program that has grown to approximately 150 players from grades 7-12.
Currently, the financial support from East Greenbush Central School District does not match the needs that our program has due to our increased growth. Unfortunately, we too are feeling the effects of the economic downturn. Our district budget’s purchasing power has been shrinking while our equipment suppliers have increased their prices. As a program, we continue the need to fund raise and are offering this unique opportunity to you.
I have enclosed our current “Corporate Community Partnership Packages” for your review. If these traditional packages do not work for you, we can tailor a custom package as we can combine our collective creativity to create a program that best suits your needs. During these difficult times we offer a cost effective way to provide access to thousands of fans, family members, and “friends of all ages” at our home games.
